Ulises Aubone is a junior at the University of Houston majoring in political science with a minor in philosophy. Ulises initially gained experience in politics while campaigning for former Houston Mayor Annise Parker in the 2010 elections. Ulises later participated in the Civic Houston Internship Program, interning with Vice Mayor Pro-Tem Jerry Davis’ office during 2018. After that, he worked in the State Capitol during the 86th Legislative Session in the office of State Representative Julie Johnson. During the summer of 2019, Ulises clerked in the Court of Judge Hoffman from the 68th District Court of the County of Dallas. Ulises has a strong interest in increasing diversity representation in the leadership positions in order to create a more inclusive and comprehensive political structure. He is also interested in attending law school after undergrad and practice law for a firm in the city of Houston.
Why am I running?
Being a Coog has allowed me with the opportunity to meet a myriad of individuals from various different backgrounds, excel in academics, and enjoy from a beautiful campus. The University of Houston is my home, and it is my intent to better this place through SGA for the many more future Coogs to come.
